Sebastian about his career at BODE – Site Poland

Age
38 years

Current position
Process Engineering Manager

Tell us briefly about yourself and your current position at BODE. How did you end up working for BODE?

My name is Sebastian, I am 38 years old and I work as a Process Engineering Manager at BODE in Poland.

During my studies, I completed an internship at BODE in the planning and logistics department and was given the opportunity to continue working there alongside my studies. After completing this, I moved to the Production Technology department as a technologist. Shortly afterwards, a new department was set up - the Technology Department. After about two years, I became head of this department and I still am today.  I applied to BODE at the time because I had heard a lot of good things about the company and the company profile matched my interests and educational background.

What tasks are part of your daily work routine?

My daily tasks include overseeing work and technology development in the company, introducing new technological solutions, new processes and machines, talking to suppliers of new technologies and market research with regard to the development of BODE.  I also work on building a team of 13 engineers and manage a team of programmers and process engineers.

What do you particularly appreciate about your current position?

What I like most about it is the variety of tasks, the opportunity for personal development, the contact with the developing market of technologies and new solutions and, above all, working in an international environment and team.

We work with the R&D department, the design department and those responsible for developing the production processes in Kassel on a daily basis. The cooperation is very open and has led to many interesting solutions that have been implemented in production at BODE.

What does teamwork look like at BODE?

The work takes place in a team between different company locations, everyone is open to working together and willing to help.

Conscientiousness, openness, communication and creativity – these qualities help in the realisation of daily tasks related to technological development.

How does BODE support the professional development of its employees?

BODE makes it possible to continue your education at various levels. In my team, I have dual students who stay with the company after graduation. We have the opportunity to plan the training for ourselves and our teams. The company also invests in the development of foreign language learning. I personally have also benefited a lot from the training opportunities in recent years. I started at BODE as a production planner, was employed as a technologist in the meantime and am now a manager.

What advice would you give to new employees who are just starting at BODE?

I recommend that new employees come to work with a positive attitude and an open mind, because they will be surrounded by an environment with extensive experience that is willing to share knowledge.

I wish every new member of the BODE family a positive adventure with the company, success and determination!
