Katrin about her career at BODE – Site Germany

Age
34

Current position
Project manager

Tell us briefly about yourself and your current position at BODE. How did you end up working for BODE?

My name is Katrin. I am 34 years old and was born in Bulgaria. I have been working at BODE in Kassel for four years now. I started as a parental leave replacement – as a project coordinator scheduling. After two years, I was offered a permanent position as a project manager.

I studied mechanical engineering at the KIT in Karlsruhe. With many years of experience in the automotive industry, I finally decided to switch to the rail industry because the issue of sustainability is quite important to me.

What tasks are part of your daily work routine?

As project manager, I am responsible for the smooth running of the projects. Starting with the award of the contract through to the successful completion and handover to the customer. I am now also responsible for the internal processes relating to project management.

Is there a project at BODE that you particularly enjoyed working on? Why?

What I appreciate most about my work at BODE is the versatile coordination and communication in the product development process. I am also happy to see the various door systems we produce in operation worldwide. I find the international projects particularly interesting. Even if working with other countries is sometimes a challenge, I still really enjoy it.

How does BODE support the professional development of its employees?

For me personally, the key to success is to continuously develop myself, to be a team player, to feel a sense of togetherness, and to identify with the products and the company.

What advice would you give to new employees who are just starting at BODE?

Above all, I would advise new employees to always share new ideas and to be authentic, courageous, and ambitious.
